Pablo Flaiszman Exhibition

Between 23 October and 1 November 2026, as part of Paris Galleries Week, the Christian Collin Gallery will present a retrospective dedicated to the etcher Pablo Flaiszman. Born in 1970 in Buenos Aires, he began his artistic training under Luisa Reisner (1928–2000), whilst also studying graphic design to reassure his parents. Initially a painter, he discovered his talent for engraving through his contact with Alfredo de Vincenzo (1921–2001). Having little appreciation for the burin – his master’s speciality – he turned to etching and then aquatint. Upon arriving in Paris in 2000, he abandoned colour for good and achieved a remarkable level of mastery over black in all its shades. There, he also developed a unique creative method. Pablo Flaiszman works from photographs – either old ones or family snaps – which he cuts up and reassembles to create a new image. This then serves as the basis for his prints. This process gives rise to images that are as everyday as they are ghostly, creating a world steeped in an unsettling strangeness.
