A nice impression on Van Gelder Zonen wove paper, signed in pencil, numbered 8/25. Blindstamp of the artist (Lugt 400b) and of the Cercle de la Librairie (Lugt 438).
Born and died in Paris, Auguste Brouet was first taught by a lithographer, and went later at the School of Fine Arts where he was noticed by Gustave Moreau. He learned engraving with Auguste Delâtre and began, in 1888, an series of views and types of Paris and its "zone".
