Published in Augsburg in the 18th century, the Collection des Prospects is a series of watercoloured etchings depicting views of cities around the world. Called "vues d'optique" ("perspective views"), these images are intended to be projected with a lantern (or zograscope), which explains the inversion of the subject and title.

Condition: scattered foxing, mount-staining, handling creases, small lack in the lower right corner. A handwritting in brown ink below the letter.
