A nice impression on pearly Japan, signed in pencil, trial proof numbered 6/6. Blindstamp of the Cercle de la Librairie (Lugt 438). 

Born and died in Paris, Auguste Brouet was first taught by a lithographer, and went later at the School of Fine Arts where he was noticed by Gustave Moreau. He learned engraving with Auguste Delâtre and began, in 1888, an series of views and types of Paris and its "zone".
